The gastronomy fair for Rice Festival in l ‘ Ampolla, finishes on the 8th October. So you still have a few days left to try out the tasty dishes there, while enjoying the beauty and tranquillity of the marina. Whereas, the Rice Festival of an equally high and exhalted standard of true delights of gastronomical flare, abounds in Amposta from the 1st October, right up until the 30th October. Oodles of time to try not once, but twice or more “rice” times as you choose.
Rice is not boring. If you think that, these chefs will prove you wrong.
Why not take a gentle drive along all the lanes of the Ebro Delta and watch the rice being harvested in time honoured way. If you wish to go on an organized tour then contact the Tourist Information office, as you enter the Delta off the N340 from Amposta.
Hi Roseann
We went to the beach at Punta del Fangar yesterday and as we passed by delta ebre and La Cava we noticed a lot of horses and carts just outside Delta Ebre, Have we missed the Rice Festival ? or is it in October? like last year?
Best regards Stuart
21st September 2009 was the Harvest Festival in the Delta. This is usually the start for the festivities and gourmet dishes can be tasted throughout October. This area is where the “paella” rice is prolifically grown, but there are so many other delights to taste with rice. Will re-check for you on fiests dates 2009.
